The story of this dress is a dramatic one!!
It took me ages to make the dress my girl wears on that photo: I altered the pattern and took ages to make it. It was perfect. Blandine wore it once and then I washed it. Tragically, the washing machine "ate" it! it was an old machine and the dress got destroyed in it!
Would you believe me if I say we both cried??! true story!
I made this layout because I want my girl to remember that even though we lost this dress, I hope she will remember how beautiful she was in it, and how much love I put in making this dress for her!
I also want her to know that her beauty does not depend on what she wears but on what she is inside.
I used March Hip Kit Club kit for this page.
Again, lot's of Crate Paper papers and embellies.
I added some stiching that you don't really see on the full layout.
I painted some of the flowers with my Gelatos and fussy cut some of them to cluster to the side of the photo.
Then I stitched some of the flowers.
I mounted some of the stickers and journaling strips on 3D adhesive to add dimension:
Now this dress will never be forgotten! And I am happy with this layout. That black and white frame really has my heart!
What are you creating this week? Are you inspired by spring?
I wish you a great week.
RépondreSupprimerOh No Sophie! Not that beautiful dress. So much care and thought and careful sewing. You must be so sad... but lovely to see it preserved here. I've been wondering what to do with the dresses that I've sewn for Missy, which are outgrown, because I can't store them forever. Perhaps I should do something similar.
RépondreSupprimerOh, I would have cried too!
RépondreSupprimerThe page is perfect - love the colors and it looks like a movie poster, thanks to the pink alphabet and clean look, at least for me it looks like a poster and your girl - the main character:)
beautiful layout! im so sorry about the dress, though - must have been devastating to see something you worked so hard on and put so much love into just ruined. im glad you got a good photo, though!!!
