Contagious Creativity podcast /episode 1

So... I kind of took the leap and filmed the first episode of my podcast just before my birthday, back in early december.

I clumsily share about my knitting works in progress,  about the yarn I use, and why I love creating so much!

J'ai la chance d'être la première avec ma copine de PcommePlimplim à participer au lancement du patron du sweat Julia de Compagnie M. en français!! 
Comme pour la robe Louisa, vous verrez différentes versions du sweat sur les blogs de mes copines couturières tous les jours cette semaine!

I am the first stop along  the Julia Sweater in french Tour   with my friend of PcommePlimplim
Marte, the creator of Compagnie M. is now offering this pattern (and others!) in 3 different languages! Of course my english readers can still buy this pattern in english : in the shop just click language and choose!
I am very honored to be first on this tour!

J'ai cousu deux versions de ce sweat: 
Pour les 2 versions j'ai choisi la version avec marges, col rabattu et poche ventrale. J'adore le clook des manches chauve-souris! Il existe d'autres possibilités pour la couture de ce sweat: avec boutons, sans poches, sans découpes, ....

#1: version Fluo / Neon Julia
Pour la version #1 : je me suis amusée avec les découpes pour une version fluo!

I chose 3 different jersey knits and I love the modern look of this top!
Make sure your knits have at least 30% strech.
I cut in size 7 for my 7 year old skinny and tall girl!

 J'ai ajouté ce petit badge, offert dans une de mes commandes Cousette!
I added this little detail I had in my stash.

Évidemment la poche a eu un énorme succès :"Le top pour mettre ma musique , Mam!" 

My girl is crazy about the central pocket: "Mum: so cool, I can put my music in it!!".

#2: version enfant sage/ sweatheart Julia
Cette version est en fait la première que j'ai cousue: taillée en 6 ans rallongée en 7 pour les longueurs comme pour la robe Louisa , elle était trop petite pour ma fille de 7 ans: c'est uniquement la faute de mon tissu: un tricot trop peu extensible. Marte recommande en effet que le tissu ait au moins 30 % d'élasticité! Et je ne peux qu'insister là dessus!
Il sera donc offert à une petite fille très bientôt! Mais pour les photos c'est encore mon bébé-boy  qui s'y colle! A condition qu'on ne voit pas son visage!!:):)

This second version is actually the first one I sewed. I used the same sizes as I did for the Louisa dress  (6 and 7 i for the length) but my fabric did not have enough stretch!! Nevermind! It will be gifted to a smaller girl and for this photo shoot my baby boy agreed to model it! as long as I didn't not show his face!!:)

{COMPAGNIE M. LOTTA DRESS TESTING / Test patron de la Robe Lotta!}

 

 The Lotta dress by Compagnie M.  is out! and I was one lucky tester!
I love this dress and its details are perfection.
The pattern comes with very detailed step by step photo instructions. 
there are different options for the pockets and back closure. 
I made the diagonal pockets and invisible zipper version.

Le Patron de la Robe Lotta par Compagnie M. est désormais disponible! Et j'ai eu la chance de le tester. 
J'adore cette robe et ce patron très détaillé, tout en pas à pas photos. 
Le patron offre plusieurs versions au niveau des poches et de la fermeture dos. 
Comme les autres patrons Compagnie M. cela taille un peu grand. 
J'ai coupé en 7 ans pour ma fille de 7ans 1/2 mais un 6 ans aurait été plus adapté. 
Pour la robe Louisa, j'avais d'ailleurs taillé en 6 ans en rajoutant un peu de longueur à la jupe. 

 I cut in size 7 for my 7 and 1/2 girl and there is much room for her to grow but that's ok.
For the Louisa dress I had cut a siez 6 for my girl and it was the perfect fit. I wanted this dress to be able to grow with my girl ! 

 I had to adjust the sides of the bodice, and I know Marte has made a great tutorial for that.

Après essayage j'ai décidé de faire un ajustement temporaire du buste que je pourrais défaire quand ma poupette grandira. Ce n'est pas très orthodoxe mais bon!

 I chose this Art Gallery fabric from the Meadow collection.

 and some blue Chambray for the lining. It recalls the light blue flower on the dress and is a complementary color to the bright orange. 

J'ai choisi ce tissu de chez Art Gallery Fabric, très lumineux et pour la doublure, un chambray jean qui rappelle les fleurs bleu clair. 

  In the pattern Marte gives you this great step by step for easy hem, something I never tried before but sure I love this way of doing hems! SEW EASY!!

Dans ce patron, Marte explique comment faire un ourlet avec une technique très simple que je ne connaissais pas! un vrai bonheur!

 If you don't have a special foot for invisible ? NOT TO WORRY;
 I will be back later this week with a photo tutorial on how to install invisible zippers WITHOUT a special foot!

Dans le dos j'ai donc posé ma fermeture invisible. 
Vous avez peur de poser une fermeture invisible? vous n'avez pas de pied spécial??? 
Pas de souci! je serai bientôt de retour ici avec un tuto photo pour vous apprendre à poser une fermeture invisible SANS pied spécial!!:)
