{thankful thursday and trying my luck...}

this week I continue with the thankful thursday!
today I am thankful for*

my internet scrapbooking friends! I am so happy to have settled my blog and to take part in challlenges. I have "met" so many amazing scrappers since March !
I am particularly thankful for my friend Sheri and I am so happy God looked after her so well recently! She is an amazing scrapper and a wonderful person, she is always so supportive.

modern medecine!
I am so happy doctors will soon be able to fix my baby's kidney. I am so glad for this surgeon I met who said he settled a new technique and will be able to help us! thank god for that!


being able to have dreams!
I am a great dreamer ! I love these lyrics by Mindy Gledhill:

One of my biggest dreams, (as crazy as it may seem!!) is to be part of Elle's studio DT. I love her gallery so much and her journaling tags are just the cuttest ever!
I have been waiting since the last DT call in order to apply and now the time has come and I am ready!! I made this layout the night before applying and I hope Elle enjoys it:

and last but not least here is my take on this week's challenge over at the studio challenges: create a 50per cent journaling layout!
well I grabbed an idea from Shimelle's class (see previous post) and created this layout: I wrote a letter of love anbd edvice to my kiddos just in case they didn't listen to me enough!!!

{ True stories! taking my first class!}

Hi ! today is the start of a class given by Shimelle, a great scrapper! it is all about learning how to journal one's life and experience!
I was lucky enough to win a place in this class over at Doris' blog! thank you so much Doris! the class includes 3 weeks of prompts, ideas, guests designers and exercises! i am so happy!

it is really coming at the right time as the challenge over at the studio challenges this week is to create a layout where journaling takes 50 per cent of the space!! so this class was all I needed to get started!

I also wanted to share a layout I did this week end : it was the sunday's sketch over at Studio calico but i never managed to upload my layout! so i just share it with you today! I also sent it to Scraptiffany as they had a banner challenge last week (but i think I was too late for that one too!!!) anyway , I like my layout: all supplies come from the october Magpie club kit which is sooooo perfect! thank you Tara, once again!

voilà! c'est les vacances! il fait très froid! je regrette le doux automne que nous avons eu les semaines passées ; alors je vous fait part d'une page faite sur ce thème! tout provient de mon kit d'octobre de chez Magpie club! il est fantastique!!

{ thankful thursday , sunday at the studio and crate paper sketch challenge}

today I am going along Elle's studio's great idea of a thankful thursday!
there are so many things i am thankful for so i will only share 3 today:
my children: i am so thankful to have been able to have 2 children, when i thought at one point I could only have one! I am so happy they are both healthy and joyful! of course, we have our bad days and "witch hours" but most of the time they are so sweet and they fill my life with their giggles and funny phrases!

My man: he saved my life! and he is the funniest , happiest man on earth. So strong, so supportive and understanding, he loves me as I am !


my job: I am a teacher and loving every moment of it. Loving giving so much to my pupils, seeing them grow and progress. It also allows me a lot of free time to look after my children and create when I want to.

Thank you Elle for the idea!


Today I also wanted to share a my take on this month sketch challenge at Crate Paper blog!
since august I have decided to do "calendar" layouts!

i am running late for this one! over at the studio challenges 2 weeks ago the challenge was to talk about your guilty pleasure!!
i sure have lots: chocolate, silly soaps on tv, singing really loud in my car, romantic films, but most of all: scrapbook supplies!! i am totally obsessive, compulsive , crazy in love with scrapbook supplies! !!
i used my magpie club september kit for this one (with some extra from my stash such as the sassafras label and ink spray) and had lots of fun!

here is the result:

journaling reads: i am totally addicted to scrapbooking. I love to see my cupboard filled with my treasures. I love new stuff, colors, textures and embellishments! they are my own little guilty pleasures!

aujourd'hui je commence une série en anglais inspirée du blog de Elle's studio: jeudis reconnaissants!!
et je vous livre deux pages: l'une pour le challenge sketch du mois chez Crate paper, et l'autre pour le challenge d'il y a 2 semaines chez le studio challenges: il fallait scrapper son petit plaisir "coupable"!! le mien (entre mille autres !) c'est bien sûr le matériel de scrap!! j'en suis folle!!

oh yes ! i must have a gift for happiness! because i keep smiling even though my days have been exhausting recently with 2 kiddos sick and soooooooooooooooooo much work to do !
But i have made it through this week and i am holding onto the idea that there is only one week to go until the autumn break for us here in France!!
That means fun with kiddos and time to scrap!! i have recieved my new Magpie club october kit and it is just perfect!
all the items are scattered on my desk awaiting to be used! and i can't wait!!
i had time to do this layout using bits and pieces from the previous kit ( and I added my own sassfras las stickers!) . Tara really is great at adding perfect little elements such as these sequins! go and check these kits!










and i am doing "secret projects"!! first time ever , so I just give you a sneek peak!! just like great scrappers do ( I can gloat a little!!)

and i will tell you more in november!

this morning as i was cooking, he walked to me from the back of the room!
Today is the 10 /10 / 10 !! and he was born on the 9/ 9 /2009!!
what other surprises will he offer us in the future!

mon bébé marche! n'est ce pas amusant qu'il le fasse aujourd'hui , le 10/10 /10?? lui qui est né le 9/9/9 ??! quel ange et quel fin mélomane! la musique que vous entendez et qui fait "groover" mon bébé c'est celle de Mindy Gledhill!
mon Dieu! je n'ai plus de bébé! mais il lui reste encore tant à apprendre et j'espère qu'il montrera toujours la même joie de découvrir et la même détermination à apprendre!

{ holding on the the summer! pinwheels tutorial/ moulin à vents origami: pas à pas!}

Hi everyone!! today i am doing something new!
I am really into pinwheels this year and i saw a layout in a french scrapbooking magazine with these 3 D pinwheels on: they are origami , that is folded paper !
I did this layout using them , about my boy's birhtday!





It took me some time to find out how to do them so I want to spare you, my lovely readers , the time and give you a humble and easy tutorial to do them yourself!

start with a square and fold it along the diagonals: fold it, open it and fold it again in another direction.

commencez avec un carré, pliez-le successivement sur toutes les diagonales.


then fold along the horizontal lines

you should end up with these folds:
à la fin vous obtenez ces plis:

Then pinch the corners and fold the middle of the sides inwards:
puis pincer les pointes et plier le milieu des côtés vers l'intérieur:

oh gosh! I guess if I ever I want to do more tutorials , i will need to have my nails manucured !!:):)

Easy !! and it will add dimension to your creations! if you don't pin it down with a brad , you can journal inside and leave it for your future readers to open!

bonjour à tous! aujourd'hui je m'essaie au pas à pas! je vous livre ma découverte de ces petis moulins 3 D origami, dont j'ai vu le modèle sur Esprit scrapbooking. Dans le mag il n'y a pas d'explication et j'ai mis un petit moment pour trouver l'astuce (pas trop longtemps quand même:):)) ! alors , pour vous épargner à vous, mes adorables lecteurs, le temps de recherche, je vous offre un petit "reportage photo"!
super facile et trop mignon , non!
Si vous ne mettez pas de brads au centre , vous pouvez écrire votre journaling dedans! une belle cachette!

And i also have this project to share: It is this week's challenge over at the studio challenges: you had to scrap your home! and our home was recently in that state:


the title reads: work in progress! it shows my brother in law painting my girl's room and the work in progress in what is now our living room! there is still a lot to do in the house but we are so happy to live in it!

I used an real "plug cover" to create a "window" on my layout!
