{THURSDAY SOULMATE SEWING }

jeudi 21 août 2014

Today we are having fun with my dear friend Annika from Näh-Connection
The thing with Annika is that  I think she is my "sewing soulmate"!:)
I have only been following her blog for a few months but we got to connect quite a lot and we realized that we have the same tastes and a lot of similar projects on our to do list.

Last week as I messaged her, she said she was about to sew a Staple dress. It turns out, I was making one too! that same week.
Crazy! so we thought; let's do this together! Now : I live in France and she lives in Germany !
 but thanks to Facebook we got to follow each other's progress.
Let me tell you she is a much faster sewer than I am and her dress is so cool!
So here is to a new fun series, that will go on on our blogs but with no strict schedule:
 "Thursday soulmate sewing!"
It is so much fun to sew together even though we are in different countries.

{ EMMA'S GARDEN BLOG HOP + A GIVEAWAY }

vendredi 15 août 2014

I am so glad to be part of Emma's Garden blog hop.
Today is my stop on the blog hop and I am really happy to share my projects with you!!
I feel so lucky to have been invited by Patty Sloniger to take part in the launch of her new collection !

Emma's Garden collection is full of bright colors and gorgeous floral patterns as well as many prints that will be perfect for basics and backgrounds.

I would have loved to make garments with the prints I got,  but decided on a Library Tote and a Gem baby Quilt.

#The Tote is made out of flying geese units. It is lined and quilted and we LOVE it here in our home:

"Daddy!!? daddy??!! daddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??!!!"
that's what you could hear in our home this week-end! Daddy's home! oh yay!
Not so often ! so the kids go "Daddy crazy" !
so we have the "boys" moments, my 4 years old "pretending " to shave!

and the outdoor fun, climbing the mountains at the fort:

 Because, you know, with Daddy, noone is ever afraid, and he never let's you down..

 even when you fall in the emptiness:

 So yes: best Dad ever , if you ask me!:)
 As for myself, I did climb the mountains too, even with my twisted ankle.
And I keep up with the good "Harry Potter" birthday preparation: we now have an "Hedwidge" thanks to PattySloniger sweet pattern:

{ Hues colorblock dress }

dimanche 3 août 2014

Remember this gorgeous stack of fabrics I got from Hawthorne Threads last time?? they are just the happiest things: so soft !
I am working on a quilt, but it can be a long process for me ...

So, in the meanwhile, I could not resist sewing a little party dress for my daughter's" horse " themed birthday party.
I had this print from Wee Wanders collection my girl loves and I decided to create a colorblock bodice to match.
I pulled out Salmon, Azalea, Teal and avocado as well as white, which are the colors also found on the Wee Wanders print.
