{ A thank you note to Jill S., and to all of you }
mardi 28 janvier 2014
There are some people on the surface of this earth I have never seen in real life, people that are part of my life though, in a funny way. People on boards, blogs, facebook chat. Real people that influence the way I create.
I would not be able to name them all here but here are a few names: Jill Sprott (number one inspiration), Christine Middlecamp (the sweetest faraway friend) , Kelly Noel and many others.
Late 2013, I really needed a break from the scrapbooking industry. I could not help compare my creations to others and felt that what I was creating was not good enough to promote the brands I was working for. I felt tired and overwhelmed by job, household chores, motherhood and assignments.
I thought the best idea was to put a full stop to scrapbooking altogether.
Last week I posted a congratulation word to Jill Sprott's FB board, in order to celebrate her making the Crate Paper team. I told her I was bummed I left the team just as she made it!!:)
And then this happened: she answered "hope your break will be VERY temporary".
The simple use of this adverb "very" changed it all for me. I realized otehr scrapbookers, ones I admire, did care for my creations and thought I had talent.
From that I decided to resume my scrapbooking endeavours! I felt again that urge to create and couldn't resist scrapbooking this day on the slopes!
So what can I say... THANK YOU Jill, thank you to all of you who sent me kind words now and then!
So here is a new page, using Crate Paper Bundle up collection:
Thank you for visiting!
hope you have a great day!

{ I am still the memory keeper }
samedi 25 janvier 2014
yes, I had to scrapbook this photo of my girl and our big fat cat: Mishka.
This page is just what makes me happy: girly stuff: frames, happy colors, pompoms (I mean: these pompoms!!!!:) they make me smile !!} and birdies.
All items are Basic Grey Fresh Cut.
In other things , I have also been cutting farbic to make my own version of the Bizzy Kid pattern fpr my boy's bed.
My kind of happy boy's color scheme.
I am off this afternoon to the moutain with the kiddos.
Enjoy your week-end!

bonjour amis francophones
{ SALLY DRESS take 1 }
dimanche 19 janvier 2014
The Sally Dress is so adorable: I had been eyeing it for a while , not daring to make it. But I found this Catnap fabric and knew I wanted a Sally dress in it.
But before cutting into it , I made a "toile" of some sort just to check the size.
However my "toile" is made out of this pretty and fine japanese dotted fabric! A wearable toile, if you like!! I don't like my effort to be wasted!
My girl was so excited to put it on!
She just wanted to dance!!
The dress is a bit too big, even though I like the loose fit. Next time, with my Catnap fabric, I will probably cut a size 6.
The big pockets are a fabulous addition to this dress, perfect for any child wanting to carry their softy around!
Well, well, that is one happy girl and her mama satisfied! thank you Shannon for this gorgeous pattern!
The pattern is available on the Very Shannon online shop. Check out Shannon's blog too Luvinthemommyhood, it's an endless source of inspiration.
have yourself a great sunday.

{ Liberty Love }
mercredi 15 janvier 2014
I have already said how much I like "Liberty Love" book.
I made a few projects from the book and the more recents are this Mini Spool Quilt and 2 pincushions
The mini Spool Quilt is actually a mix of the book's pattern and Camille Roskelley Spool quilt pattern. I am taking her brand new class on Craftsy and loving it.
I used 4 different fabrics for my spools, the top of the spools are made out of Robert Kaufman linen.
I know, I know , It is no big deal: it is only a tiny portion of the quilt, but I am LEARNING!!:) and loving it!
The mini Quilt was gifted to a dear friend for her new home.
With the scraps from the spool quilt and from my scrap bin, I made 2 pincushions for 2 sewing friends. I didn't have enough prints in Liberty so I added other scraps in the same colorway.
What I really like about these pincushions is that they are quite a generous size. Quite cuddly really!!
I really enjoyed these small projects! they brought a lot of satisfaction!!
Well! tell me, what are you working on right now?? my next project will be a bed cover for my 4 year old boy.
have yourself a great day

bonjour amis francophones!

{ Crate Paper Bundled Up layout }
lundi 13 janvier 2014
I am back with a layout I made to document our christmas.
I used Bundled up and had fun clustering the lovely brads and flairs from the collection.
It is a very simple design but, as usual I could not ressit adding some small happy details: stamping and scalloped punched out paper in gold!
have yourself a lovely week!

{ little softy }
mardi 7 janvier 2014
I can now share this little Lamb Softy I made as a christmas present for my sweer niece.
It was the first time I made a softy and to be honest I did struggle a bit with the different layers.
But I love the result and the cuteness of it!
I used some sherpa Fleece I bought from a small fabric shop in Switserland.
For the apron I mainly used Lori Holt Bake Shop fabrics and some linen, to which I added a little cat button.
I followed the pattern in I love Patchwork
Well! I hope my niece will enjoy this "made with love" present!
have yourself a great day!:)
sophie
Bonsoir!!
adieu petit mouton!
et bonne soirée à vous!!
